Just when you thought things had died down, the Prince of Tennis manga has just been released in English again. It's called “New Prince of Tennis” and is available for download on Mangago. The digital version will be out January 6th, 2017 and the hardcover volumes come out March 7th, 2017. This is all thanks to Viz Media who are publishing the new version! The New Prince of Tennis manga starts with Shusuke Fuji returning to Japan after 8 years away. At first, he feels like an outsider in his own country because his peers have grown up while he was away in America playing tennis at university there. The guy everyone wanted to be like was gone, even though he was only gone for two years! However, the old Shusuke comes back in his own way. He's still playing tennis, but on an entirely different level. He's on the rise. I can't wait to get into this new manga series! I hope it follows the same format as the first one and continues to be just as good! As of December 2nd, 2016, New Prince of Tennis #11 is available on Amazon Kindle for $4.99 (regularly $12.99). There are currently 3 volumes out. Volumes 1 to 6 were published by Shogakukan. Volumes 7 to 9 were published by Viz Media. * This arc is split into two chapters, the first of which is in volume 7, while the second is in volume 8. The first one takes place between volumes 17 and 18, and was published in volume 19.Volume 17 of the Viz Media English version is 384 pages long, while volume 18 is 384 pages long. The original Japanese version consists of a total of 8 volumes. However, the English versions have a different number of volumes: 9 volumes for the Viz Media version, and 10 for the Shogakukan version. The reason for this discrepancy is unknown to me at this time. A manga adaptation by Shinjirō will be released in late December 2016. There's also an upcoming film adaptation, to be released in 2017. New Prince of Tennis is a manga written by Tenya Yabuuchi, illustrated by Kōji Nanami, published by Shogakukan.
